About
Winter Percussion is one of three activities organized by Winter Guard International. Winter Guard was the first focus of WGI (hence the name). WGI includes school units as well as independent units, which compete in classes determined by the skill level of the ensemble: World Class, Open Class, and A Class. WGI holds regional championship events throughout the country (similar to BOA for marching band) and world championships in Dayton, OH every April.
